Care Questions

Care plans are personalised and regularly reviewed to ensure they continue to meet each resident’s needs. As health and well-being requirements evolve, our team adapts support accordingly, working closely with residents and their families to maintain a plan that’s tailored specifically for them.

Residential care offers 24-hour live-in support for individuals who need help with personal care or mobility. Nursing care also provides round-the-clock support, but the key difference is the presence of a registered nurse on-site at all times to deliver medical care when needed.

We focus on residents’ overall well-being by providing high-quality care that eases daily challenges such as personal care, mobility, and medical needs. Mental, physical, and emotional health are supported through a variety of activities and facilities, allowing residents to socialise, pursue hobbies, try new experiences, and continue learning – all while living life on their own terms.

Yes, we offer palliative care for residents approaching the end of life, focusing on comfort and dignity while also supporting their loved ones during this emotional period.

A 28-day notice period is required for residents planning to leave any of our long-term care options. Our caring team is available 24/7 to support you throughout the transition and answer any questions.

Finance Questions

Your weekly fees at Benarty cover your accommodation, all meals, snacks, and drinks, as well as participation in activities, use of in-house facilities, and local outings (some trips may carry a small additional cost).

All care and support needs are included in the fees, although certain medical services, such as dental care or chiropody, may require an extra charge. We aim to accommodate all resident requests, but some may have additional costs – please speak to the team for more details.

Care home fees can be covered in different ways depending on individual circumstances. If someone has eligible care needs and limited financial resources, the local authority may cover all or part of the fees. Those with complex healthcare needs requiring full-time nursing care might be eligible for NHS Continuing Healthcare Funding, which covers the full cost of care, including accommodation and personal care.

Residents with sufficient income, savings, or assets may need to fund their care themselves, though family members can choose to contribute. In many cases, care fees are met through a combination of self-funding and local authority support.

Should a resident face financial difficulties, we’ll do everything we can to provide support. This may include discussing alternative funding options or, if necessary, relocating to a smaller suite within the home. Our team is always available to talk through the best way forward.

In the sad event of a resident’s passing, care fees will stop from the date of death. Accommodation charges continue for up to ten days, allowing families time to collect personal belongings at their own pace. Our team is always on hand to offer support and guidance during this difficult time.

Top-up fees apply when the cost of care is higher than the amount covered by your local council. In these cases, a family member or another party can pay the difference to ensure you or your loved one can stay in the home of your choice.

Care fees are reviewed once a year to make sure we can continue providing the highest standard of care. If there are any changes, you’ll be notified at least four weeks in advance. Our annual fee review usually takes place in April. If you’d like more details about how fees are managed, our team will be happy to talk things through.
