Benarty View Care Home Blooms with Colourful Flower Arranging Session

There’s been a real buzz of creativity at Benarty View Care Home recently, as our residents came together for a fun flower arranging activity. With an array of fresh blooms, greenery to hand, residents spent the afternoon carefully crafting their own floral displays, and the results were absolutely stunning.

The session was held in one of our bright and airy communal rooms, where residents gathered around the table, cups of tea in hand, chatting, laughing, and choosing their favourite flowers. Using dainty teacups and saucers as vases, the arrangements added a charming touch of elegance, and you could see the pride in everyone’s face as their creations took shape.

Our team members were on hand to offer gentle guidance and encouragement, but it was clear the residents needed little help, their natural flair for colour and balance quickly came to the fore. By the end of the afternoon, we had a beautiful collection of arrangements made with red roses, pink carnations, vibrant alstroemeria, and lush greenery, now proudly displayed on our dining room tables and throughout the home.

Activities like flower arranging do more than simply brighten a room. They offer meaningful stimulation and are an important part of daily life here at Benarty View Care Home. Taking part in creative pastimes helps residents to maintain their fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination, and focus. Just as importantly, it’s a lovely way to spark conversation, reminisce, and feel a sense of achievement.
